In conjunction with launching clinical trials in 2014, we formed our Clinical Advisory Board. Its members are globally recognized medical specialists with substantial experience and expertise in clinical trial protocol design.

Dr. Chan is an expert in digestive diseases. He has led many clinical trials, including several landmark studies of Celebrex, one of the most widely used NSAIDs.

He is Dean of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and one of the world’s most recognized and respected gastroenterologists.

As a medical doctor and scientist, Dr. Lanas’s research has focused on the adverse effects of NSAIDs on the gastrointestinal tract. He has led multiple pioneering medical research studies and clinical trials, drawing attention to the significant ulceration and bleeding that NSAIDs cause in the small intestine, and the fact that such damage typically goes undiagnosed.

Early in his career, he was visiting professor of gastroenterology at the University of Alabama, USA. He is former President of the Gastroenterology Association in Spain.

Dr Lanas has published more than 350 articles in leading medical journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, Nature, and The Lancet.

As a medical doctor and scientist, Dr. Scheiman focuses on acid-related disorders such as peptic ulcer disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease. He also studies the early diagnosis of gastrointestinal malignancies, particularly pancreatic cancer.

He has published on the cost-effective application of several new diagnostic approaches and therapies.

Dr. Scheiman’s research on preventing gastrointestinal damage by NSAIDs has defined today’s clinical approach to this drug class. He is the author of more than 250 original scientific publications and book chapters.

Dr. Thorne specializes in internal medicine and rheumatology, involving the treatment inflammation and pain in joints, muscles, and ligaments.

He is former President of the Canadian Rheumatology Association. He has been a director of the Arthritis Society in Canada, treasurer of the Panamerican League of Associations for Rheumatology, and an executive member of the Canadian Rheumatology Research Consortium.
